Professional development is important for all professions. This is especially true for the field of early care and education.
The Department of Children, Youth, and Families has outlined the professional development expectations for family child care and child care center professionals. Visit the DCYF website for licensing expectations: http://www.dcyf.ri.gov/licensing.php.
Rhode Island is lucky to have the Center for Early Learning Professionals. The Center provides Technical Assistance and Professional Development for early care and education professionals. The Center has many offerings on a range of topics. These offerings are updated several times a year. Visit the Center's website to learn more about professional development and to see the upcoming offerings: http://center-elp.org/professional-development.
Additionally there are several other agencies that offer high quality professional development as well. Please contact the Center for more information.
