BrightStars is Rhode Island’s Tiered Quality Rating and Improvement System (TQRIS). Through our star rating system and quality improvement services, we help early care, education and school-age programs learn about best practices and apply them to the care children receive. BrightStars assesses the quality of early care, education and school-age programs and rates them from 1 to 5 stars.

We recognize program quality and give families information to make choices about their children’s care and education.

We all know that quality matters for a child’s healthy development and learning. Rhode Island is committed to high-quality early learning opportunities for children.
