Program Leaders

BrightStars measures and supports quality in state licensed or approved programs, including:

What are the benefits to joining BrightStars?

  • Many child care programs in Rhode Island are already providing a level of care above what licensing requires. BrightStars is an opportunity to be recognized for that effort.
  • Participating programs are featured on our website. Parents and others use the website to search for participating programs in their city/town of residence or work and by other characteristics important to families.
  • Programs participating in BrightStars receive support to use their rating to market their program to parents.
  • Participating programs receive an objective program assessment as well as feedback on program strengths and challenges. Programs use this information to develop benchmarks and strategies to guide improvement.
  • BrightStars supports programs in accessing local and national resources that support quality. BrightStars participants receive preferred/priority status for local quality improvement services.
